It is impossible to imagine that even forty years ago, gay people were not permitted to parade and express themselves in public. On Sunday, we will commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, as well as honor the many people who have fought for our rights throughout history. Many people have fought for our rights and equality throughout history, including many who stood up for them. LGBTQ people are still being harassed and imprisoned, and many people do not understand or agree with our rights. There has never been an easy path to equality or acceptance, and there is still work to be done. The LGBTQ rights movement is widely recognized as having been shaped by the Stonewall uprising. Since then, gay pride parades have been held annually in cities all over the world. The parade was a huge success, with an estimated 20,000 people in attendance. The parade was organized by the Gay Liberation Front and the Gay Activists Alliance to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. The first ever gay pride parade was held on Jin New York City.
